This table has an associated publication. If you use data from it, it may be appropriate to reference 2018MNRAS.474.3875B (ADS BibTeX entry for the publication) either in addition to or instead of the service reference.
To cite the table as such, we suggest the following BibTeX entry:
@MISC{vo:gama_dr3_spectra, year=2021, title={{GAMA}-DR3 Spectra}, author={Baldry et al.}, url={https://vo.lam.fr/tableinfo/gama_dr3.spectra}, howpublished={{VO} resource provided by the {CeSAM} Virtual Observatory Server} }
GAMA (Galaxy And Mass Assembly) is a joint European-Australasian project based on spectroscopic observations using the AAOmega multi-object spectrograph on the Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT).
This resource contains the spectra from the third data release of GAMA, for more information, please visit the GAMA web site [1].
We ingested all the spectra from the SpecAll.fits table (i.e. not the rows with xxx as URL) except 7 files that did not contain actual spectra; these are the SDSS spectra with SPECID 318630249967413248, 318630524845320192, 318715736996472832, 318800674269718528, 340069354064340992, 369430722538137600, and 601252573990643712.
This leads to 214 341 available spectra.
We also added to the spectra the IS_BEST and IS_SBEST information from the SpecAll.fits table from the GAMA web site.
The SSAP response contains this columns: spectral, flux, error, flux_nocalib, error_nocalib, and sky. Nevertheless, not all spectra contain all the information, in particular the calibrated flux is not available everywhere.
GAMA is a joint European-Australasian project based around a spectroscopic campaign using the Anglo-Australian Telescope. The GAMA input catalogue is based on data taken from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and the UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey. Complementary imaging of the GAMA regions is being obtained by a number of independent survey programmes including GALEX MIS, VST KiDS, VISTA VIKING, WISE, Herschel-ATLAS, GMRT and ASKAP providing UV to radio coverage. GAMA is funded by the STFC (UK), the ARC (Australia), the AAO, and the participating institutions. The GAMA website is http://www.gama-survey.org/ .
